Lesson obj: line, shape, pattern, & color. I made 8 templates of each turtle. See below. Students picked the one they wanted and traced it on a 9X11 drawing paper. We then began a direct drawing activity to add lines and shapes on the back of the turtle. I suggested using 3 colors in a rotated pattern -an ABC pattern. Another suggestion was to use a monochromatic color scheme- using mostly blues/greens. On the outside edge I showed them how to add a kind of graphic bubble. We also added semi-circle u-shapes to the turtle legs. Sharpies and crayons, and watercolor markers were used. Bobby from Tennessee - the email never came in?
